It is rare to come across bands like Dirk Digglers Blues Revue in the bars and clubs of the UK and is a real treat when you do. Their ability to relate the feel and emotion of the blues to their audience is hard to better.
In a big old shed, at the bottom of the wild garden of an old house in Stoke, something wonderful is happening. Seven musicians have been laughing a lot, and spending a few years growing a sound which fuses the twang of Americana with the clip of an Irish jaunting car. Some call it death country, others prefer Stokes answer to Arcade Fire, but you need to decide for yourself.

Moitessier was formed around June 2013 by five multi-instrumentalists who all met on the local music scene. The original idea was to form a band with an acoustic, stripped back style and sound. Some of their collective influences include Matthew E. White, Phosphorescent and Jonathan Wilson as well as classics such as The Band, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Neil Young, The Faces and The Rolling Stones.

The Alsager Community Choir was formed in May 2012 and was created to allow people of all singing abilities to get together, make new friends and sing their favourite songs. Choir leader Matthew initially came up with the idea whilst he was teaching in China, where he had to use the choir singing as a way to relax students who were under enormous pressure at school.
Emily began making music on her keyboard when she was 12 years old. Since then, she’s recorded and released an album and an EP, performed at various local festivals and in venues in and around Staffordshire and Cheshire. She was recently nominated for Best Young Act at the Music Awards of Staffordshire & Cheshire 2017.
Emily Kate is a singer/songwriter from Staffordshire with a quirky style; performing storytelling original songs and well known songs with a twist.
Based in the North West of England and North Wales we play an exciting mix of Bluegrass, Country, Blues and Folk standards, but often with a twist! Members of the band are Johnny Baxter (fiddle, harmonica, bodhran, guitar, mandolin and vocals), Tony Kidd (guitar, mandolin and vocals), Richard Nott (double bass), Julian (Jools) Pellatt (guitar, banjo, ukulele, charango, mandolin and vocals).
James’ home town of Liverpool is a diverse musical melting pot, and this was a heady influence on James, who started playing guitar from a young age, largely playing rhythm and blues. In his early twenties he fronted several different line-ups including Lies all Lies, playing a rock’n’roll-meets-new-wave guitar style music. Later he fronted The Electric Morning and released records on the Liverpool indie label Probe Records.
Mollie & Alex perform in this wonderful two-part harmony duo whenever they can. Over time they have played different genres of music and given them a more relaxed, acoustic style, putting their own twist on every song they sing. They have wonderful harmonies and sound great together.
13 year old singer and songwriter from Yarnfield Stone, called Olivia Mai. She plays modern pop with a twist along with some soulful originals on acoustic guitar and electric piano.
A dynamic acoustic duo from Derby, UK. Glastonbury Emerging Talent Longlisters & featured in Louder Than War’s ‘Top 50 bands to look out for in 2015’. Armed with just 2 voices, an acoustic guitar, bits of a drum kit and loads of enthusiasm, they create a fresh and unique performance.
Strings Attached are a 4 piece all female band from Staffordshire and Shropshire, playing original acoustic music. They have a wealth of performance experience ranging from playing in bands, solo, duos, vocal harmony groups and loads more. They are a plucky, fun and upbeat group!
He sings, plays banjo and harmonica, midnight music from a cabin on the borderland, ballads and blues, originals and timeless tunes from a common heritage. You may have heard him on Paul Jones show on BBC Radio 2, and late at night on Radio 3.
Tim Lee is a Singer/Songwriter from the Northwest. He has eclectic influences, from Paul Simon to the Velvet Underground, Smokey Robinson to the Foo Fighters, and this reflects in his diverse material; which ranges from the dark to the funny, the funky to the soulful. But the lyrics are always true (sometimes brutally), and his voice is his own.
2017 Milton Marquee
Four lads from Stoke on Trent looking for a chance to do something magical and take over the world with the power of guitar, lad rock.
From flirting with psychedelia to insidious indie slow-dance and around to punk and grunge influenced hard rock, you’ll find versatility aplenty in China Tanks’ two EPs: Drinking, Dancing, Dirty Lovin’ and Beautiful Shame. They’ve shared the stage with such local Stoke royalty as King Kula and John Dhali, and their aforementioned EPs have had copious airtime on both local and online radio stations.

A dynamic and energetic band, going since 2013. Based in Stockport and Manchester. A nice bunch of people who love writing/creating songs and playing them live. A mixture of lively Reggae, Indie, Ska, Blues, Funk, Rock and whatever else we are in the mood for.
Release are a 5 piece alternative band from Stoke on Trent formed in November 2014. These guys are making huge waves in the local music scene and in addition to other accolades have recently been awarded best single at Music Awards of Staffordshire and Cheshire. They will light up the Marquee with their incredibly energetic performance – definitely not one to miss!!
The Sound of Phoenix is a teen rock/pop group heavily influenced by bands such as Fallout Boy, Panic! at the Disco and One Republic. The six piece band consists of (Left to Right) Max (Piano/Keyboards), Ajay (Bass), Ted (Vocals), Will (Guitar), Thai (Piano) and Ross (Drums).
The Red Kites are 4/5 piece band consisting of James Biddulph Jnr, Nath P Lally, Jim Richards, Aidan Willis and Djembe Alan. The band have built a quality set list of original material, compiling a mixture of sounds, ranging from late 60’s rock/ blues with a touch of retro mod influence, to some acoustic edgy folk/pop.
Made up from Corinne Plant, Pete Bowers and Ian Evans, they have an original style with powerful distortion guitar fused with clear toned lead guitar and warm bass. Their style is original but is sometimes compared to surf music.
The V is a band of five Stoke-on- Trent and Alsager based accomplished musicians that have been inspiring Staffordshire and South Cheshire audiences to dance for years. We play classic music with a fresh dynamic twist and oodles of fast groove from bands including: Killers, Blondie, Oasis, Beatles, Kings of Leon, The Jam, Stereophonics, Rolling Stones, ABBA, Muse, Kasabian, Status Quo etc. Oh, and we love playing funk too.
Born from Greenway Music’s jam group in 2014, the band has grown to include up to 8 members at any one time and perform Classic, Heavy and Indie Rock covers from a variety of bands.
2017 Dance Stage
Originally from Sandbach, Adam Element is a Manchester based producer, remixer and DJ, spinning electronic music for the last 15 years around the UK & Asia. Adam’s style can incorporate both harder edged sounds and stripped back beats taking a typical dj set back and forth between energy and anticipation. A set can include live elements such as controllers and machines, live effects and remixing on the fly.
Andy Brennan is an Alsager local and will be playing an all vinyl set of house, disco, funk and anything in between. Having learnt to DJ while living in Bristol, he played a range of genres at parties throughout the city and this variation influences the selection in his sets.
From a young age the loveable local legend, Mark Stott collected and amassed rare records and began DJing at Northern Soul all-nighters. Always found with a cheeky smile on his face, Mark brings a selection of some of his all-time favourite Northern Soul and Motown records and is honoured to play the opening set at Concrete, Alsager Music Festival.
It’s taken a number of years for Milky T to really find that perfect brew. Moving from techno, house, disco and everything in between; there really isn’t a genre he won’t consider having a go at. Never been one for production, he focuses more on taking the crowd on a journey through a plethora of sounds. His AMF experience will be no different and expect disco classics and big surprises throughout.
Selström will be playing a completely live, and improvised techno set, using his collection of analogue and digital hardware, including ‘Sandra’ his beloved modular synthesizer. Selström aims to wreak a little bit of light-hearted havoc in the unassuming grassy slopes of Alsager skate park.
Si has been DJing for over 15 years playing a wide range of electronic genres. Expect a diverse mix of house, electro swing, breaks with the odd classic thrown in and all brought to you in a 100% vinyl only set. This set is guaranteed to make the sun shine.
Straight outta Stoke on Trent, Sirius Sound System are a soundsystem with their eyes simultaneously fixated on pristine sound quality and earth splitting bass. As the brainchild of audio nut Ash Henderson, Sirius meld together traditional Jamaican soundsystem culture alongside modern technology and diverse musical stylings.
