With numerous television, radio and festival appearances across the UK, Europe and USA, Matthew Frederick has built an acclaimed career as a solo musician, frontman of Cymrucana pioneers Climbing Trees and one half of indie-folk duo Hazel & Grey. Across five albums, two EPs and seventeen singles, his journey has included performances with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, recording sessions at London’s legendary Maida Vale Studios, airplay across BBC Introducing, Radio 1 and 6 Music, and a Welsh Music Prize nomination.

Following the release of his critically acclaimed solo album Fragments via Staylittle Music, Autumn 2025 sees Frederick return with forthcoming single and long-time live favourite ‘Obsolete’ — his first solo release in five years — alongside a run of shows across Wales.
